The Senate unanimously passed a resolution honoring his contributions, and numerous Senators and Members of Congress entered statements in the Congressional Record recognizing his work.

Jim earned his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from James Madison University and his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Aging Research, Jim founded the Northern Virginia Health Policy Forum and is Vice Chair of the Steering Committee of the Partnership for a Healthier Alexandria.
